DIE WERBEFLÄCHE IS A NEW SPOT FOR CONTEMPORARY ART
“Die Werbefläche” is a hybrid between art and commerce. The art will be displayed in a shop window of the kioks. The window is public 24/7 and apparent to a brighter audience than only gallery visitors (to any passerby).
The young curator Maya Minder is now in charge of the “Die Werbefläche” art space. Her first show is featuring Antshi von Moos, an artist based in Zurich, bachelor of art in 2005, Luzern, the winner of the Varanasi Studio Grant in India, 2012. On the view is her piece “Psychodelic Chewing Gum”, a light box made of bubble gum on plexis glas with an LED-lightening. The show will run till 26 March.

Grösser als Zürich – Kunst in Aussersihl

A new project STUNK SKIOK by the feminist cultural space Frauenraum in Bern is hosting an art exhibition where women from all over Switzerland are showing their recent works. The view, bar and discussions are open to public this Saturday from 5pm.

ZKB Art Award at Kunst Zurich 2011
For the fifth time Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB) is donating an art award for emerging artists during KUNST ZÜRICH.
Ten selected artists and their galleries are being invited to participate in the fair. All artists will show their works in a solo-show. The winner is being nominated for an award of CHF 10 000 by a Jury.

What to see in Zurich, today Grieder Contemporary Gallery Reopening at a new location
Grieder Contemporary Gallery has finally moved from Küsnacht to Zurich and having its opening on Mühlebachstrasse 28 today. The gallery is known for quite an interesting artist program represented such as Lori Hersberger and Christian Jankowski. The new space is designed by Nina Baier-Bischofberger in Avant-Garde style and promises a challenge for the artists for a lot of experiments and interactions.
It looks like, it cannot be missed!

This year the Zurich Art Prize went to a swiss artist Mai-Thu Perret, whose work is distinguished by complex installations and sculptures and has a great deal of feminine themes and domestic symbols in it. Here is an interesting interview the artist gave in 2008 about her work and education. Today, Mai-Thu Perret current show can be seen at Hauskonstruktiv Zurich till October.
